One of the greatest blessings of God’s Kingdom is how diverse we are. The Bible says we are the Body of Christ and, just like the body, every part is unique and has a role to play. Just like the body, we need to protect and care for each other knowing that we have different functions. The hand may be thankful to be such an integral part of the body, but it would be silly to be jealous of the bicep just because it isn’t seeing the same growth as the bicep after lifting weights!
Within the Kingdom, we all have a role to play.
Some are passionate about families, others are focused on business or government or education. At BMI, our heart’s desire is to highlight different organizations who are passionate about loving people, all people, the way Jesus did. We want to continually introduce you to our partners and give you an opportunity to hear their hearts and pray for their ministry. During our events we set aside time for you to hear directly from them and pray for them—for their influence in the community, additional volunteers, more resources, or even wisdom. James wrote, “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you” (1:5 NLT). Every organization, every leader, always needs Godly wisdom and God promises to answer your prayers for wisdom. God says, “All you have to do is ask.”
Prayer is foundational.
Some may think it odd to pray at a business conference, but as Paul wrote, “Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere” Ephesians 6:18. At BMI, we believe prayer is foundational to connecting with God; it opens our hearts and minds to His leading so we can follow Him down paths of righteousness.
